Scott Anaya
Executive Director
Scott joined ABSN in January of 2006 as its first full time Executive Director. He has 13 years of executive level non-profit management experience. Scott’s organizational experience, both as executive level staff and as a board director, has necessitated focus and personal organization, financial integrity, accounting thoroughness, and other important administrative skills. He has been an office director managing a large staff, while advancing multiple tasks on a variety of issues. He has over eighteen years of financial experience including managing annual budgets approaching a million dollars, managing the tight cash flows of NGO’s, as well as corporate and donor relations. Scott has been a founding board member of two other nonprofit organizations and has helped these groups build successful funding bases, administrative and financial systems, and successful programs. He has also served on a variety of national and local level committees of NGO’s and governments. Scott is currently Board President of Solace International, which builds schools in many impoverished countries around the world. He is also currently serving on the Anchorage Mayor's Healthy and Energy Efficient Buildings Task Force. Scott’s personal interests include travel, skiing, photography, and wine and in his spare time he skips the gym in favor of hikes with his dog Charlie in the front range.

JOB SUMMARY:
The EE Administrative Assistant supports delivery of energy efficiency measures for community owned buildings in several rural Alaska villages. This individual helps with project coordination, follow -up communications, research, procurement, purchasing, shipping, spreadsheet data collection and various administrative assistance activities. Primary job emphasis is interfacing between project manager, field managers, village entities and staff to support a variety of program delivery activities and goals.
JOB CONDITIONS:
- For the right candidate, position can be 30 - 40 hrs / week, full-time preferred.

- Demonstrated experience and abilities in clerical support, communications, program coordination
- Strong computer skills including Excel and word processing, Microsoft ACCESS a bonus.
- Experience coordinating projects including distance communications and project support.
- Working knowledge of social, cultural and economic conditions and issues of rural Alaska life.
- Ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem solving and decision making while also working effectively as a team member
- Willingness to ask questions as they arise and communicate to the point of clear understandings of program methods and directions
- Valid drivers license
- Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs
- Experience in cross-cultural communication with rural Alaskans.
- Experience with working or traveling in rural Alaska villages.
- Desk-top publishing skills, Microsoft ACCESS proficiency.
